The challenge

Grillo's had a cult following, a distinctive personality, and no established merch business. The opportunity was to turn that existing love into products fans would choose, then build the complete system required to launch, learn, and grow.

The approach

Craftwork built the program from zero through one connected team. Original art shaped the assortment. Ecommerce, studio and lifestyle content, paid media, email, fulfillment, customer care, and reporting turned each launch into a source of attention, demand, and sharper product decisions.

The story

From familiar brand to active fandom.

Scroll through the strategy, product, and operating system behind the program.

01 / Make the product worth carrying

Design for the fan, not the logo placement.

Original graphic art, apparel, headwear, accessories, and unexpected objects translated Grillo's irreverent personality into products people wanted on their own merit.

Original art and product

Add a dense assortment or studio still life showing original-art apparel beside unexpected accessories or objects. Include Sam Sam artwork if possible.

02 / Give the product a world

Make every frame feel as distinctive as the product.

Studio and lifestyle content placed the assortment inside a playful, social world that felt unmistakably Grillo's, then carried that language through the storefront and campaigns.

03 / Make products people talk about

Unexpected objects carried the brand beyond the shop.

A pickle-scented candle and limited-edition Zippo lighter turned brand personality into conversation, collaboration, gifting, and earned media.

Conversation-starting objects

Pair the pickle-scented candle with the Grillo’s x Zippo lighter, or use a clean collage of the products and press coverage.

04 / Compound the demand

Connect every launch to the next decision.

Paid media, email, ecommerce behavior, fulfillment, and reporting worked as one learning system, so each launch made the next product and campaign smarter.

Connected growth system

Add a collage of the storefront, paid creative, email, product photography, and lifestyle content.

What this proved

Product can make a brand part of the culture, not just part of the ad break.

01

A business can begin with affinity

Grillo’s did not need an existing merch operation. It needed products that gave an existing community a reason to participate.

02

The object can be the media

Apparel, accessories, and unexpected collaborations created impressions in feeds, press, homes, streets, and social settings.

03

One system compounds the learning

Product, content, commerce, marketing, and operations improved together because every team worked from the same signals.
